Student Research Policy

Venkateshwara Open University necessitates that all examinations including human members be reviewed and approved. . Neither solicitation for participants nor data collection may begin until a researcher has received written approval from the University. The VOU necessitates that all student research activities be supervised by a faculty member. Venkateshwara Open University students – both undergraduate and graduate – engage in a wide range of research activities. Such activities may include class-related research projects, independent research, Honors or capstone projects, or graduate theses. The VOU perceives that some student research projects may not require department review above and beyond faculty supervision. The purpose of the above statement is to clarify VOU policy on student research.

Objectives

This policy provides a broad framework to guide research and integrity of scholarly inquiry at the University. The objectives of policy are as follows:

  • ii) To ensure integrity, quality and ethics in research,
  • iii) To coordinate educating and research through translational and instructional research, and;
  • iv) To boost the generation of intellectual capital.

The University will additionally support doctoral research and earmark appropriate budgets for scholarship and research facilities in different institutions. It will likewise perceive the commendable R&D organisations for doctoral research and build bridges with them. The University will keep on empowering faculty and research scholars to get funding for attending International conferences from external agencies as a matching share so that the quality in research paper can be maintained. It shall urge research scholars to publish and patent their research work.
